There are many salad dressings available in stores. Which brand do you recommend?
Thank you, Earl, for your great question. I am not a big fan of store salad dressings, as most of them are not that healthy. They, too often, have artificial flavors, colorings, and sugar which add unecessary calories. Not to forget, they do not always use the best fat known to be good for you either. Recently, it has been reported that some dressings even contain titanium dioxide contaminated with lead!
I personally recommend to make your own. It takes just a few minutes and you can prepare a large amount, store it in a similar store bought bottle or container, before refrigerating. Simple ingredients like a good olive oil, your favorite vinegar, freshly minced salad herbs, a little garlic/shallot, a touch of Dijon mustard, salt and pepper will be a lot healthier for you than any store bought dressing!
